I have a mattress in a box kind of bed and it was looking pretty beat up. After finagling around with it for a moment I was able to slide it over my mattress and zip it up with ease. I will say if your bed is much larger than the standard 10 inches, you might have some trouble with the fit. But, this one happened to fit my bed perfectly and it's so comfy and gets the job done!The part that goes over the mattress has a wool-like texture which adds a little bit of coziness but not much softness. Still, I'm happy to have a clean bed.I haven't gotten around to testing the waterproof claim but I'm pretty happy with the ease of the zipper and how simple it is to remove and put back on.

This is a nice mattress protector. TIP if you are installing on a bed that is memory foam or some iteration thereof... you need at least 2 people to put it on, 3 is probably better. This is because memory foam is freaking heavy.
