It was a little larger than the actual nub on the top of my struts (08 Mazda CX9) but it did get the job done. On removing the old struts the nubs both snapped off, but I am assuming that was due to the strut not the tool. That said it was a pain to get the old ones off, but the tool worked perfectly for installing the new ones (NOTE: you have to run your ratchet in reverse since you are actually spinning the shaft and not the bolt… shaft turning left makes the bolt tighten right).

bought this tool to replace the shocks on my Isuzu Trooper. It worked on the Old man Emo shocks but would not fit the KYB's.
