We plant garlic by hand and these were great for making holes that go to the right depth for the basal plate. We have some varieties with about golf-ball sized cloves so it's nice that these can make a wide enough opening if you sink the tip all the way in. Works great for our partial clay soil.They held up through our fall planting of a couple thousand. I like good tools at a good price and getting two made this a solid value.

As an older novice gardener I am always looking for tools to make things a little easier and cleaner. Quality tools at least make me feel like i have a clue. The aluminum tip is of some concern but will last several years I am sure.

Only used it for 1 day, but am very pleased with it. Dug over 20 holes to plant cuttings. Worked incredibly well by wetting the soil first and rotating the handle when inserting it in the ground. Also a great value.Update: handle came loose, but was easily fixed with wood glue. Still very pleased. Ordered 2 more to give to friends.

These work great for planting annuals. I have rheumatoid arthritis and these didn't hurt my hands. Highly recommended!

While I was so excited to use these, the small nail that is used to hold it to the wooden part came out. We were easily able to put it back in with a different nail, but still frustrating. I primarily utilized the other one for measuring out for my bulbs. I am hopeful to figure out how to better utilize in the future.
