I was a bit skeptical about this but I have a job with a ton of thin rips of drywall for a soffit that is only like 4-5" deep. I have also spent money on other crappy drywall cutting tools in the past and been disappointed in them almost immediately. This tool was the opposite. I did some initial checks to make sure that the scale would give me an accurate measurement when using it, so I had confidence in the idea of it. I used it today to cut some patch strips for a ceiling one was 24" wide the others were 15.75" and this thing made it a breeze. I set it and ran it the length of my 8' sheet for the 24" rip. the backside paper was not cut completely but easy to snap and run my knife up it. I adjusted the cutter in a little and the next two rips snapped off perfectly clean. Super easy, no measuring just set it, run it down the sheet and boom.

This tool is great , I wish that I would have bought it sooner. So much faster and a cleaner straightener cut.

This is a Fantastic tool that should be used by anyone doing drywall! Cuts straight clean lines every time and can be easily used single handedly after a bit of practice. The supplied blades hold up great. Be sure to adjust razor blade depths for different drywall thicknesses. I was sooo happy to have found this. It saves so much time and makes for tight joints and crisp cuts with no dust. I cannot believe others like it are nowhere to be found! My only complaint is that it is not super sturdy and after drywalling most of a condo during a major renovation, one of the plastic guide wheels broke. Although the tool is still (mostly) functional, it is on its last legs. I would happily pay double for a professional grade version of this tool that is more durable and survives long term use. At this price, I will buy again because it worked so efficiently and is so handy but I hate disposable tools. Hopefully the inventors come out with an upgraded model that is intended for long term routine use. :)

As an amateur drywall installer I do small jobs the require ripping drywall sheets pretty much every day. I purchased this tool because I was intrigued by the idea and saw it have some good reviews. I had about a 15 min period after first use where I thought this tool was going to suck. I also questioned where you lock the actually set the depth. Doesn’t have a dedicated red line to show you without a doubt you set it to say…25â€. Had to play around with that as well. But after the 15 min and a few practice runs I tell you this tool is amazing! I recommend it to anyone doing drywall that is frustrated with the paper tearing after you snap the sheet. This cuts both sides simultaneously so the sheet just snaps free.I would give it 4 stars due to the measuring issue but I am too impressed.

i have been drywalling for a long time. This thing is a godsend. I recently had to finish a 7' basement, meaning chopping off 1' from every panel. 1 guy upstairs cutting with this tool all by himself. 2 guys hauling down steps, 1 guy placing and securing. No bottleneck. Was amazing.Tool makes such clean cuts, no edge filing needed, much less dust comes off.complaints - 5/8" drywall is rough to cut on the non-beveled edge. It could be a few microns wider in the channel and would be perfect.- if you are cutting off more than 18", the last 6ish inches of pushing isn't smooth. the tool is a bit unstable when full extended. BUT it still works.Tips - reduce your blade depth. Make 2 passes if need be.- you MUST push it, not pull.- use a drywall cart or build a big jig to get it off the ground. Cutting off the short sides, as I needed to, can't be done without some sort of elevation to the sheet.Overall...love it

I purchased this to cut numerous drywall sheets in our cottage renovation. It excels in cutting thinner pieces of drywall, i.e. 3" by 8'. Cuts this small normally break into pieces if you try to cut them with a knife and straight edge, not with this. I like the fact that it came with extra blades, but I have not changed them yet.It does take a little practice to ensure that you have your measurements correct, but once you do it works like a charm. Perfect for the DIY enthusiast.I believe the maximum depth of cut is two feet, which allows you to cut any board to the desired width.
