We have other Thomas train tracks, and got this for additional tracks to be able to link a few together. It easily connected with the other tracks, and the train communicate with the trains from other sets as well.It comes with a packet with 3 different track ideas to build. The instructions are a but like pictionary, but once you figure it out, it's pretty easy.The bucket and lid have built in tracks so it becomes part of the fun, but also convenient that you don't lose the container when it's time to put it away.My 2.5 year old likes to pick these tracks up, and the tracks don't break. Sometime the connections fall apart, but nothing thay isn't supposed to come apart does.

We have two existing Thomas & Friends sets, and I have already tried combining them to make them more interesting. However, I've been very limited by the lack of straight track and the fact that we have only one switch between the two sets: any branch off this switch is a branch to a dead-end which is not a lot of fun.This track extension kit provides three additional switches, lots of straight track, a raised platform, and more curve pieces than you'll probably ever need. The quality and design is the same as the original sets, so everything is compatible.The accompanying photo show how I was able to add a working branch to our existing sets by adding just one orange switch and three turquoise straight tracks. I didn't even need to use the turquoise curves; I had curves left over from the original sets. And the bucket is still full of more pieces and two more switches and the pl;atform. We can move this to the floor and expand it to fill up the whole room.

My almost 4-year-old loves it. We had the train and needs just the rails so it worked perfectly. Great size for small spaces

I bought this because my grandson likes trains. Don't expect kids of any young age to be able to set the track up without adult help. The tracks take a bit of strength and finesse to click together. Plus the instructions for track layouts need to be followed (no freeform track creations here). I also found it helpful to label the different track pieces using a sharpie marker on top because the labels they come with are hard for old gramps to see. But once its setup he likes playing with it. It's also nice that its self-contained with the "mountain" doubling as a storage container.

This is is fun, my son and I have spend a lot of time playing with it. It helps with creativity and attention to detail if more than one train on track.

This train set is huge, has different routes you can set up, good quality seems durable, my son absolutely loves trains right now and he has been having non stop fun with this, came in good condition, easy assembly and connects to other Thomas train sets as well!!

Brilliant add on set to expand the track set my son got for Xmas. We got him some of the motorised trains so wanted more track and this is perfect. I love the storage tub, there's room for more in there than what comes in it. Plenty of corners and the extra junctions make it easy to build more exciting tracks, my son is 3 and he can put this track together himself with a bit of help.
