Installation
Its VERY important to drill a pilot hole (7/64" drill bit) & then gently hammer the nail into the hole. Copper is a very soft material.

Instructions for Installing Copper Nails in Trees & Stumps
- Drill a pilot hole in the tree for the spike to go into (1/16” drill bit)
- Hammer the nail into the pilot hole
- Space the nails out evenly around the base of the stump
- Try to remove as much bark as possible to expose the pulp of the tree
- Now sit back and wait for the nails to do its magic!!

These are amazing. I did predrill before hammering in. But none bent and the copper nailheads are pretty against black wood.

Nice strong nails. I drilled pilot holes as specified in the directions. The nails went into the 4" by 4" treated posts just fine. None of the 100 nails bent. Really pleased.

Not much else to say. I ordered 2 packages of 100, and received 202 out of 200 purchased. Granted, one of them wasn't the right size, but that one was free, so nothing to complain about. Nice flat, planar heads. Where the shaft joins the head is also quite flat, so these nails will sit very flush against your workpiece. Points are sharp and uniform. A very nice fastener at a reasonable price.Since Amazon is asking for a "softness" attribute rating along with "value" and "ease of use" I'm going to put softness at 3 stars. They are nails after all, but they're copper... Not quite sure what they're expecting, so splitting the difference. If softness is that important to you, you may want to anneal them before using, but that might make them harder to sink. Up to you I guess.
