I needed more backboard for matting my 11 x 14 commissioned portrait to fit a 16 x 20 frae. These back boards measure exactly 16 x 20 inches. But when I put the mat on top of it (same brand) edges of the backboard , about 1/8 of an inch, protrude . I never had this happen before. They fit in the protective bag but it just doesn't look very professional. I buy precut because my mat cutter is crap and always look unprofessional so I buy precut. I am interested if anyone else had this issue with backboards.

Ok read a lot of reviews before buying and smashed corners seemed to be a thing. I was optimistic when I opened the box to see that they were well packaged; double wrapped with paper padding. Still, there was MINOR damage to one set of the corners. Not a deal breaker for me with at home use. But if you’re a professional, trying to mat your photos yourself I would go with another product as this wouldn’t fly with many customers. That being said they look great and work for what I needed. The mats are quite wide though so you’re better off ordering photos that fit inside the opening of the mat rather than fit your frame.

Unfortunately every single board was smashed at the corner. Since I needed them that day I was forced to use them anyways and Amazon took no accountability for it. The interior package box was smashed so it was packed this way and shipped out. The boards themselves were a decent quality, there's no texture on them if your looking to use them for photo mats.
