I use these backboards to glue down watercolor paper and then paint various small (2"x 3") watercolors. Each board allows me to make 18 pieces, which are very cost-effective. I glue a paper easel on the back to make them stand up.

Pluses: Nice bright white board - there are so many shades of white mat board and I was worried this would be a duller white, but pleasantly surprised. Good reasonable price, especially saving me the work in cutting down full size sheets.Minuses: Poor packaging, begs for shipment damage. boards were shrink-wrapped and then wrapped with thin corrugated cardboard, with little protection. I think if standard corner protectors were placed around bundle corners before the corrugated wrap, there would have been no problem. ( Three corners of carton had damage)I need boards full size for upcoming photography exhibit, so can't trim, and will have to make do with the corner damage which occurred on all boards as I don't have time to return this order.I would have rated product a five, but have to rate by what I receive to work with.

I ordered these mats last year and have been using them to package my art. I like the variation in colors as my etchings also vary in color. I don't have a lot of table space where I can cut large mat boards, so having them already cut to a half size is more convenient than buying full sheets from an art supply store.

The color selection was VERY nice -- I will probably use all of these. What really impressed me (besides receiving my order a day ahead of schedule!) was the packaging. These boards were shrink-wrapped and double boxed to prevent damage. No banding strips, no scratches, no bent corners --- just pristine boards that are a joy to cut. I am going to be a repeat customer for sure!

Thin and cardboard feeling. Certainly a good price, but if you're looking to buy quality mat board, look elsewhere.

It is good for adding color to various framing projects. You may not get the particular colors you are looking for and there will only be one of each color.

Multiple boards had damage ranging from crumpled corners to curled strips peeling from the back of one board and leaving marks on the good surface of the board underneath. Since I plan to make mats of various sizes and wanted these also as colour samples for future projects, I decided to keep them for the price. I did make one 16x20 mat so far with 3 cutouts in it (using the Logan cutter) and it worked out well.
