Oil works great on my elliptical stepper which was squeaking badly. Now it's smooth and quiet. No odor, and I'm very sensitive to smells, so the lack of odor is a big relief. Easy to apply, no mess, no problems.

For the price, you get a lot of this stuff and the plastic tube which makes it handy for getting into hard to reach places. I did notice that the consistency of this is very thin. I didn't think that it would be a huge issue. But when I used it on something other than a treadmill, another piece of exercise equipment, I noted that the lubricant did end up running and puddling at the bottom of the area where it was applied. It also doesn't seem as slick as other silicone grease that I have used in the past.So, for a treadmill, this might be a perfectly fine, although, admittedly, I would still be worried about puddling in my machine. but don't buy the bottle with the expectation of using it as a cheaper variation of silicone grease for other workout equipment as I did.
