Purchase this as an upgrade to the razor MX 650 platform went from stock gearing with a 140 pound rider getting 2 miles with the lead acid batteries at 12 mph to consistently driving 24 mph with a range of approximately 15 miles. I’ve purchased new sprockets and they’re just increasing my speed and now that I bought a higher battery I’m getting even more torque and range, my only downside is there is no third speed with the three speed switch. I get fantastic first speed fantastic second speed third speed does nothing, maybe I missed something in description, maybe I should reread.

I ordered this to replace a smaller motor for our Go-Kart project. It’s perfect for our kid, as we don’t want it to go too fast. Even with both my weight and the kart combined, totaling around 250 lbs, it handles effortlessly.The only thing I wish it came with is some instructions. However, we managed to figure it out by watching the video provided here.

Got it for a Razor mx500. I was able to install it and connect all the wires correctly. (You will have to cut the flange, reccess the bolts and use spacers between the motor and back brac to mount it as its shorter than the stock one).He updated. Asked to send him a video. Sent him a youtube link where I uploaded the video and he told me he could. Ot see it.... so returned. Motor never went above 2500 rpm....The problem is that the motor will not go into high speed. Low and normal work fine, but it just whines and slows down.This makes the motor only reach 14mph (4 less than stock) with a lithium battery.Waiting on seller to answer to complaint. Will update if he does.

I bought an old non-running Razor MX500 for $50 and ordered this kit to get it going for my kids. I ordered 3 lithium 12v 12ah batteries as well. Installation was easy, even though there were no instructions. The plugs are labeled and shaped in a way that doesn't allow you to plug the wrong cables into the wrong plug. Don't be intimidated by this, it's very simple. I did however, have to make some spacers for the motor (as another reviewer indicated) but I just used some aluminum pipe flanges I had laying around. You could just stack some washers and call it a day. I used the old drive sprocket from the Razor motor, this one doesn't work for the small chains.Definitely an increase in torque and speed! The motor wasn't spinning the right way because the chains are on the right side, but you just have to switch two of the wires coming from the motor where they connect on the distribution block and it will reverse. Level one and two work great but nothing for Level 3, which is okay because it goes fast enough for my kids. It takes me (215lbs) down the road about 20mph!The quality is great and the kids love the key switch. The battery indicator looks awesome as well. If you want some more pep in your Razor dirt bike or quad, you will be happy with this kit.

Really easy to figure out were everything plugs in, there was one issue, my chain was in the right side and the motor was going backwards so I switched the connections on the box, and it goes forward and faster now, I uploaded the picture of the right connection if any one has the same issue.

Don’t recommending this product.Installed this on my sons MX650 and motor starts runs for a second or two and stops. Turn the throttle again and it will do the same thing. And will only work in low speed. Second and third it will just click.

Like others mention, the motor does not ramp up to full speed for whatever reason. I have ample battery capacity, but it does not go above about 2500rpm, regardless of the speed I have it set on. The motor mounts are uneven, and the support was not very helpful resolving my issue. Now I am stuck with a motor that doesn’t do what it is rated to do, and all I can say is I do not recommend anyone else purchase this product
