If you are asking what’s a rivnut?
Typically a rivnut is a threaded insert that can be compared somewhat to a rivet in function. They are made to fit tightly into a drilled or punched hole through thin metal, and when using the proper tool a portion of the corrugated area on the outside barrel of the rivnut expands and collapses to lock itself into the hole becoming a captured nut for a bolt to be screwed into.

Nice assortment with plenty of each size for my uses. I only needed 8 of the 6mm nuts but bought the kit as it was cheaper than buying individual Riv Nuts. They compressed perfectly when installed on the aluminum gunnels of my fishing boat to mount new folding cleats. Quality appears to be excellent. Be careful not to over compress the installation tool when installing as you can easily strip these (or any Riv Nuts). Ask me how I know!I’m totally pleased with these. I also bought and used an inexpensive installation tool kit from Amazon.

This is a very nice set, I have grown accustomed to carefully examing amazon product photographs and scrutinizingbthe offering even down to the quality of the case and I landed here.They perform very well and my rivet nut tool easily places them, the stainless threads are a nice solution to obnoxious alloy threads that fail frequently when you set it with the marvelous JBWeld two part epoxy.

They came fast, and work well, but I should have considered they are stainless, as they were harder to install. After all the YouTube methods failed, I called a friend who loaned me the install tool.

Perfect set for what I needed. Of course, anymore, most large scale manufacturing equipment is produced overseas so I always need metric tools and accessories to work on these machines. These come in handy for safety covers and simple repairs for stripped threads on like sheet metal and lexan. I highly recommend getting this kit. You won't be disappointed. The only thing I'll add is that I already own the rivnut gun so if you don't, you'll need to purchase it. Good thing is they sell the gun and the kit as it's own package!
