Been using for a few months now. Making Kefir. Living in the Pacific NW and keeping my house in the mid-60s my new adventure into making Kefir started off slow. Controlling a pad to 70 deg has kicked up my kefir production so that I have it every day. The incorporated controlling thermostat works a treat. This will be a permanent feature in my kitchen without having to up the temperature of the room.

Honestly, this is a ton of heat for the price. You get basically double what some other products provide.

I like the fact that you get two pads with one control which allows you to be brewing two Kombucha containers at the same time. But I'm disappointed with the lack of suction for the suction cup for the temperature sensor. It's fallen off my glass gallon fermentation bottle twice. (Yes the glass container was clean and I moistened the suction cup before installing) When it falls off the sensor is measuring the temperature of the air, so if you have it set for 77 degrees and the air is 70 degrees, the heating pads will keep getting hotter ad hotter making the Kombucha heat up way over 90 degrees.I'll start taping the sensor to the glass bottle from now on, but wish the suction cup would just work like it supposed to.The other thing you need to realize is that the temperature the sensor reads and the unit tries to maintain is NOT the true temperature of your Kombucha. You need to have a temperature strip on your bottle that is more accurate. I'm finding that setting the temperature of the heating pad to around 75 degrees will allow the Kombucha to get to 80 degrees. You will have to experiment before you can get it right.

I am making wine in the basement which is cool in the summer a little cold in the fall. I had a batch of wine that didn't ferment very well, got this heater for the next batch and worked Great. Set the temp and held it right on the temp I set.

This doesn't do a consistent or effective job at keeping my kombucha brew at a desired temperature. I have to keep checking it and monkeying with it to get it to do what it's intended to do. I hope a wrap-around heater will work better.

My jar fits perfectly on it with room for other ferment bottles. Just what I wanted.

Works as designed. The pad warmed up quickly and help temperature accurately for multiple days. Adjustability is nice, and the thermometer is accurate. 5/5, would recommend.

I used this with a glass carboy and it was able to maintain temperature well. I like the long cords, and I didn’t have any issues with getting everything situated. The suction cup was appreciated, but I like to put the thermometer directly into the liquid. On that note, I have had issues with similar types of probes failing when submerged for long periods of time (some Inkbirds are notorious for this), so I would have preferred a detachable probe that could be easily replaced if needed. That said, this unit and probe have been working well thus far and everything seems to be well made.
