These brackets are made of thick aluminum (or similar alloy) metal. They are indeed light (they don’t weigh much at all), but the point that needs to be sturdy (where the rope/carabiner attaches at the key hole) is nice and wide and the material is thick. As these are designed to be permanently installed along your roof’s ridge line, they are made of an alloy that won’t rust and cause rust streaking on your roof singles (the steel ones will eventually rust when exposed to the elements, and thus are usually a temporary solution that should be uninstalled when you’re done working on the roof). I ordered these to install them once and have a permanent solution for fall safety on my roof. They have a very nice matte black powder coating and each one comes individually wrapped in plastic to prevent them scratching during shipping. These should be installed into the roof rafters using special rubato roof nails or screws that can handle your load in case of a fall. I’ll be installing these in pairs, facing opposite directions from the ridge line; you’ll need to carefully temporarily remove shingles at the connection point, ensuring you mail/screw into a rafter below (when in doubt, crawl into your attic and take some photos and measurements of the spans between your rafters). If you’re going to fall, you want to have your weight supported at the small part of the keyhole, and away from the attachment holes above. That’s why you install one on each side/pitch of the roof, so your weight never pulls against the anchor attachment nail/screw holes, which would act like a mechanical lever and come loose. When installed and used properly, these roof anchors should prove to be plenty strong on their own, but just to be more safe, it’s always a good idea to attach your safety rope/harness to more than one anchor while working (attached to multiple properly installed anchors should provide extra strength in case of a fall). When in doubt, consult the multitude of instructions and videos found online for installing these types of roof anchors properly, or have a roofer do it for you. I’ll leave mine in place so I can safely work on the roof in the future.

I use these for fall protection anchor building. I never attach to less than two of these so I'm glad the stet came with 12 because I have been doubling and tripling them up in some spots so I can build a nice multi-point anchor that I trust a bit more. I also like using them flipped upside down at the base of trees and at the bottom of my rope so that I can anchor the tail of the rope for SRT and rope catch devices. Works great for this purpose of bottom anchoring because I'm not as worried about its strength and it just needs to hold the rope from being pulled up while I ascend the line. I prefer actual KN rated climbing anchors for my fall protection anchors. Or I like using slings around main trusses and posts.

I need some anchors on my roof to assist with some repair work, but the metal is so soft, can they really be used for professional work, I don't think so.

Good material heft, powder coat finish, should be durable, and that's good as I'm going to use them for a permanent installation.

These anchors are made of an aluminum alloy which is different from others on the market, which are usually made of steel. The advantage is they are lighter weight than others, but potentially weaker.I have not yet had an opportunity to install yet, but I don't anticipate any problem with them.I will update if I discover any concerns.

My house is tall and narrow with pitched roofs. When I painted some of it last season I used a harness, and secured it using eye-bolts to structural elements. These anchors are made of 11/64" aluminum alloy, roughly 3/16, and are nicely powder-coated, so they'll last on my house between one job and the next. There are six screw holes also 11/64" in diameter, a tight fit for a #10 bolt or equivalent wood screw. They are reasonably invisible on a dark surface, I'll leave them installed on the higher reaches of my house.

I have to replace a bathroom vent on a steep pitched roof on a two story house and saw these as a great solution to tying off. I haven't mounted them yet, but they are thick and look like they will fit and function well under the shingles, however they don't include hardware or instructions. The build quality is ok, with sharp edges, so definitely not for direct contact with rope. I consider these to be affordable but single use and will leave them installed until the roof is replaced.

Nice quality 12 pack of aluminum anchors. They are pretty thick and will definitely hold body weight. These can be left on the roof as well since they will never corrode. They have good powder coating on them
