Not much to say beyond that they are plastic "buttons" used to protect non-metallic sheathed wiring (aka Romex) from chafing and pullout when entering a metal junction box such as in recessed lighting. They go into the knockout hole loose, but once the wire is passed through, it will expand and grip onto both the wire and the box. Wire can even be slipped through the slit first but getting it snapped into the box becomes much tougher.The biggest caveat is that these are not listed so they may run afoul of a very picky inspector; it's a tradeoff for the lower price than the major brands. Materials are fine otherwise and they still do the job, hence it still earns 5 stars.

Good connectors for all the recessed light we put in. Why don’t they give you one or two along with the lights.
