I go through a lot of thread bobbins for large cross stitch projects. There are lots of bobbins for a good price that are easy to label. While they did come with a bobbin winder, it unfortunately didn’t hold well on the thread box so it ended up being faster to card by hand. Overall a good product for those who also need a lot of bobbins for big projects.

I spent a day with this doohickey and my embroider floss. Super useful to get all the floss organized. I had to use a floss holder on each side to get the winder to stay put but that was fine and no problem. I’d order again. Only a few of the holders weren’t punched just right to fit the winder.

I have only tried to use the winder once (I wound 2 bobbins with it). It doesn't grip and some people have given suggestions for how to work around that but unless you have a good reason for not being able to grip (arthritis, carpal tunnel), it isn't worth it. I do love the plastic bobbins, the paper bobbins I have used get warped and don't lay flat (too tightly wrapped) but I can't do that with the plastic.
