I'm very computer literate, I've built every desktop I've owned.Opened clamp, inserted cable (making certain it was oriented correctly), connected new SSD, reconnected battery.As soon as it powers on, smelled burning. It was this cable.SSD is fine, computer fine (luckily) see photo of cable.Great ratings, but this one was kinked in two places out of the bag and almost caught fire.

It works on my Acer 5. I only had to buy it because I tossed the box that had the OEM cable (with screws) in it. #ID10TOn the install I just had to make sure the cable was fully inserted (the little tabs on the side of the cable should go all the way to the end of the pins), then it worked. I didn't flatten the cable out, just slightly bent it to where it would sit flatter when I put the bottom of the case back on.NOTE: Buying the round cable might be better, IMHO.

Recently bought a used Acer Nitro 5, but It never came with the sata cable for storage. This did the trick. Will update if anything goes wrong.
