Made the hole I needed, my caliper showed drill bit being a bit off, but I am not sure if my caliper is accurate

Great drill bit. No splitting or shattering. Good price to value.

I got this 2" (51 mm) bit to replace an aging Forstner bit that was starting to chew wood. What I like about this bit:* Seems well made. The 2" hole is a 2" hole. The carbide appears properly attached. The hole base is level to the surface.* Seems balanced. I use mine primarily in a drill press. I am not experiencing any wobble or shaking. What could use improvement:* The packaging. It is shipped unwrapped, loose inside a plastic cylinder. Needless to say, that cylinder has a lot of cuts and divots from the shipping process. Meaning your poor bit was banging around. One question to answer, since the listing mentions both hex and circular shafts. This is a circular shaft. So, I am happy to say this successfully replaces my previously mentioned old 2" bit. It's not the most exciting bit I've ever purchased, but it is doing the job well.

cenyb 4 in. (101.6 mm) Carbide Forstner BitThroughout the years I’ve accumulated 3 Forstner Bit sets, with 2 of them being high quality and the third being very low quality (it was my first set; live and learn!). But I’ve never had a Forstner nearly as big as this one. (I believe my largest current FB’s are 2â€.)I wanted the biggest size b/c every so often you need a hole drilled that’s bigger than 1†to 2†in diameter (the largest sizes in most FB sets). And with this very heavy duty 4 incher, it’s nice being able to skip the drawing of the hole and skip using a saber saw to cut the (imperfect) hole; and even skip the multitude of cheap hole saw bits.By going straight to the large-diameter, 4†Forstner bit, you can drill a virtually perfect hole with no tear out, IF you drill half the hole from one side and the other half from the other side. If for some reason you can’t do it this way, then just drill down SLOWLY to minimize tear out.The Forstner bit itself is very impressive: it’s made of thick, YG8 Industrial Grade Alloy, which is a tungsten-cobalt stamping die mould steel, with excellent abrasion resistance, durability, strength and impact toughness. I wouldn’t say it drills through wood like butter, but it’s the next best thing! It made quick, smooth work while drilling through a piece of 2â€-thick pine (a softwood), as well as a 3â€-thick slab of hard maple (a hardwood). I’m going to enjoy using it when the need for a 4-inch hole presents itself. Finally, a word of caution: be very careful handling the bit. Its carbide blades are quite sharp, and the carbide tips are sharp in their own right. And the center point is definitely capable of puncturing or tearing the skin. So it would probably be safest to handle it by its shaft.I definitely recommend this cenyb 4†carbide Forstner bit. In fact, the price point is so reasonable on these very high-quality carbide bits that I will be buying more of the hard-to-find larger sizes. I encourage you to give them a try as well.

I remember being a small child, some 60 years ago, and being told by my teacher we were going to have to learn a new measurement system called the metric system. Being small children that threw us all into a 'tizzy' because we already had so many things to learn! 60 years later, the United States never did convert wholly to the metric system, but a lot of countries did. As an adult handyman it just means I have to have two or more sets of tools to get a job done. Here is an example of a 29mm drill bit that is also known as a 1-1/8" drill bit. Do you see my point?I didn't want to have to buy a 29mm drill bit, but in order to get holes to match up perfectly with European or Asian wood products, you have to have metric tools. 'Nuff said 'bout that! This 29mm Forstner bit is awesome! I have larger sizes as well this manufacturer makes some very large sizes and are all made quite well, and very sharp!I have to stress, that after reading some of the previous reviews that you will never get a good hole using a large bit of this type without clamping it down very well, and using the slowest speed you can possibly dial in on your drill press! You'll thank me for this information later!Forstner bits will make a flat bottom hole unlike any other style of bit. This is professional grade tooling and it will do a very nice job if you use it properly!'Nuff said 'bout that, five stars!
