Item description clearly states these are 304 stainless steel, if they were, they would have enough nickel content so they would not be attracted to a magnet.I contacted seller and they did refund me, but did not address the incorrect description or offer an explanation.

These have proven to be useful for my wood furniture repairs and various other projects. These T-nuts are durable and have held up to some abuse already after I’ve repeatedly torqued down on them and pulled on them as a semi-torture test.I like these nuts since they are easy to use, and hold tight with a more flush look when compared to using a nut and washer. They have made my repairs and projects much easier and more efficient. In terms of value, this pack of 50 offers a good bang for your buck. These T-nuts have met all my expectations for a stainless steel product, earning them five stars.

These pass the magnet test, so they are indeed SS 304.These are usually seen in furniture where the legs have adjustable feet. These however have many uses as seen in the other reviews and were probably invented by someone with the last name MacGyver. These worked well to anchor a rebar bender to a piece of 2" x 12"; being out in the weather, the stainless steel is important.

These come on this page in a number of sizes so I won't speak to that. I'm doing repairs on my powerboat and have situations where I need to put a screw in to hold something, but can't get to the back of the hole to put a nut or lockwasher on.That's where these come in. I drill a hole in the plywood the correct size to take the device, insert it, then tap it down so it is flush. Now I can insert a bolt or screw that fits the threads and tighten it down without having to get at the back of the boat's gunwale, siding or decking.I like that these appear to be reasonably quality stainless steel -- in the marine environment, I do not want rust!
