Have an older camper cover for my truck and the old lift struts gave out. Looked up the size I needed and the fit is perfect. Sturdy. Work as expected. Quality is good.

These will replace the Springlift (Atwood Corp) gas shocks model SL33-40-1 perfectly. I replaced the (40lb per shocks) on my rod locker on a Lund Pro V 1775 '03 model and they work fine. Easy to install, plenty of lift, we will see on longevity.

My old support struts wore out after about five years. These are used to support my rear window on a pickup truck topper. My old ones worked great at the beginning but would drop the window on my head as I loaded and unloaded articles on my truck. The new ones are rated around 40 pounds which do a great job. They were extremely easy to install by just pushing them onto the ball connector on the window. I got two of these for less than what I paid for one of the old ones at an auto parts store. Just make sure you measure the extended length and the closed length for the device you want to install them on. If you are unsure of the pounds of lift you need you can use a luggage scale to measure to get the correct size.

Sooooo . . . I went more than five years with a fence post in the pickup to hold up the canopy lid, crawling in under the lid to get the post when it had migrated to the front of the bed, knocking out the post and dropping the lid on my head, having the lid drop on store employees loading my truck for me, all the while assuming (without investigating) that it would be expensive or impossible to replace the struts. $19.99 delivered to my door and five minutes to install, these struts were. (OK, I did spend some time watching YouTube videos on installation first.) Now adding myself to the list of reviewers kicking themselves for waiting so long to figure out such a simple, inexpensive fix. I got the 17", 40 lb. for a SnugTop, and they are perfect. I have no idea how long they will last (they seem sturdy), but with the small expense and time commitment to replace, I'm not worried. Of note, these struts come with a bead of grease inside the end pieces, i.e. ready to go. (YouTube videos recommend greasing the posts to which the struts attach.) Also, the clips at each end of the strut are easy to lift up and out of the way; just be sure to use your screwdriver on the side of the clip toward the center of the strut and lift the clip up and out toward the end of the strut. (I tried the opposite first and ran the screwdriver into my hand. It was a dumb move.) The clips just slide up, not completely off, and then are a snap (literally) to push into place after attaching the strut to the post. Can't imagine being more satisfied with this purchase.

Works as it should. Fits as it should. Does its intended job. No complaints about anything! I ordered this for a “McGuyver” project, of mine, but it was a little too strong.. so it got used on a different project, requiring the appropriate # and N ratings. Thinking up random projects and then working to complete them, with Primarily just the materials on hand and immediately available, is exhilarating…especially when you succeed. This item was meant to fine tune an adjustment I made on an already finished project.. but ended up becoming “material already on hand”, to use for a different McGuyver Project.
