1.5 Inch Long Copper Slating \ Roofing Nails
USE FOR:
- Slate roof installation or repair
- Tile roofing
- Weatherstrip fastening
- House projects
- DIY craftsmanship
- Boat building
- Science experiments (make a battery with a potato or lemon!)
- Decor / decorative use
HOW-TO:Consider drilling pilot holes (using a 3/32” or 7/64" drill bit) into the wood or surface you'll be using the nails on. This will allow you to pound in the relatively soft copper spikes without bending them.
WHAT'S INCLUDED? The package includes 10 ounces (approx. 100 count) of copper nails each measuring in at 1.5 inches long with a 3/8 inch head and 0.12 in shank diameter and Br BRILLANTE item card. Made in the USA

I was a little worried that solid copper nails would not be stiff enough to nail into 2x stock when attaching copper flashing, but they work perfectly and not one bent nail.I will be back for more as they have worked perfectly.Avoid bi-metallic issues when working with copper and use these nails, they look great and will match the patina of your copper flashing/work as it ages.I definitely recommend these nails for those who must have perfection in copper.

I cannot say anything about comparing these nails with others as I’ve never used copper nails before. That being said, they worked great for the copper post caps that I used them for, which are 6†x 6†pressure treated post. I would have given 5 stars but again I did not have anything to compare them against.

Nicely manufactured and much stronger than I assumed! I nailed these into old-growth 2-8 floor joists, and they didn't bend or peen over. Make sure you hit the nails squarely on the head, as mis-strikes deformed the head of the nail sometimes. Also, I had pretty good luck with pre-drilling a small hole ahead of time. These are really well-made nails, good luck with your projects!

I installed a run of 1/2 copper water line for an outdoor tap and needed copper straps and nails. You can’t mix steel and copper - galvanic reactions occur that leads to corrosion and possible pipe leaks down the road. Both Lowe’s and Home Depot were out of stock (COVID/supply chain issues/thievery etc. at work) so I ordered from Amazon. Arrived quick, got my copper straps installed - no pipes knocking. The way copper is going price wise, I may add the nails I didn’t use to my estate. Hope that helps!

Matched the copper caps to my posts. Punched a starter hole first, no issues with bent nails. Consistent finish quality throughout the bag.
