We needed something to protect our fur ball from slipping down our open staircase. These work great. They are not adhered with a super sticky tape but they stay put pretty well (except for when vacuumed). Very easy to put back into place, though, so they work for fine for us. They are nice and sturdy.

We have tried a couple different brands of these step treads but these by far are the best. We liked these so much that we bought the red ones just for the Holidays and black ones for all year.We wanted a safe stepping tread for our dogs, who had been slipping on the wooden steps a lot. Originally, We purchased those cushy soft ones with a bright pattern (beachy image design). The pattern was cute but after a while was just too busy to have on steps PLUS, those pads sort of curled up on the edges and tended to pull up or sometimes your feet would get caught on them. Also the sticking system was not great with little adhesive 2x2" pads that you applied to the bottom and the floor. They tended to ware out really fast and many of them just started falling off. Also, they do not clean well and once you clean them - you can NOT stick them back on the steps. You'd have to get velcro or something like that to re-stick them.This brand however, are thin, like 1/4" thick or less and they are solid and really stick well to the floor with no curled edges. You step on them and they are not cushy and soft but solid and steady on the steps.Great Sticky Back DesignThey stick with a smart system - The entire back is sticky like a strong temporary glue that can be removed and washed and re-used. Plus, when we pulled up the red ones, we put the plastic covers back on them to keep them from getting dusty in storage. If you are looking for stair treads - look no further and try these - you will definitely like them and they are at an excellent price point compared to the other more expensive ones.

The only reason I gave only 4 stars for Overall, Adhesion, and Easy to Clean is because I haven't yet tried to take up the treads, machine wash them, and put them back down, so I don't know if they hold up as described. And even if they don't, I'd buy them again because they look good, were easy to put down, stay in place, and give me peace of mind over slipping.I bought and installed them about 7 months ago and they're holding up just fine. Installation was a breeze. I didn't do any measuring - just removed the backing, eyeballed the placement, and set them down. I didn't apply pressure until I knew they were where I wanted them; I had to take up and reset a few because my eyeballing was a little off. I was afraid to pull them up and maybe pull up the finish on my stairs with them, but that didn't happen. When I got them all where I wanted them, I pressed them firmly into place.Just now, I checked them again for this review and noticed that one corner of a couple of them was slightly curled up; I don't know if they did that on their own over time or if I just didn't press them down well enough all around during installation. I pressed those turned corners; they stuck and I hope they stay. The treads clean up well with the hose attachment to my upright vaccum cleaner.I love these carpet stair treads. My dogs aren't slip-sliding anymore and I feel safer, too - especially when wearing heels. Even my boyfriend said he really likes them.

Had a set of these for 8 years on our basement stairs and began to feel thin. Removed easily, no sticky residue. Wiped down the stairs and installed these quickly. Look great and feel cushy.

Purchased these after we got new hardwood stairs put in. Thinking it would be temporary but we may use these permanently as they are a great value for what I paid, it was easy to lay down and adhere, and they work as functioned.

Color is neutral and looks good with natural wood floors. It is easy to install. I didn’t have to use the tape that comes with it. Hopefully I don’t have to use it in the future. So far the back of the pads was sticky enough.

Our older dog was having trouble sliding down our wooden stairs. Had these about 2 months now and they are holding up and help with slipping on the stairs.Could be a bit thicker of material but so fair so good.These are peel and stick though.
