After almost 10 years of oil changes, I decided I should do the right thing and replace the crush washer while doing the oil change. These are the right size and nice and cheap. No leaks after installing and torquing.

Tcrush washer fit my 2011 Subaru Outback 2.5L engine. I had to buy these as Subaru changed the drain plug size since my last, 2005, Legacy wagon with the "same" (not quite, apparently) engine. Buying them in bulk is cheap and they fit and seal as designed. Be sue to use a new crush washer EVERY time you change the oil and you will be fine. They are designed to seal perfectly if used once and only once. (Guess how I know this ...) Well worth the price. Delivery was in a softpack as appropriate for this kind of product. I will buy more when I start to run low.

If you change the oil on a newer Subaru, you probably need one of these rings to seal the drain plug every time you change your oil. These are much cheaper than buying dealer parts and one pack like this will get you through 50,000 miles.

I’ve been using these with the upgraded 17mm oil drain plug on my 2021 Outback limited without issues. No leaks and I change every 3500-5000 miles. I’ve also used on a 2018 crosstrek limited.

Fit on the drain plug perfectly and no oil leaks. Works as expected.
