We didn't need to childproof but my mom's fridge sits on an uneven ground and the doors don't always stay closed unless you are very intentional with shutting them. She's has some things in her freezer defrost and it's just a bummer when your fridge has been wide open all night:/ she wanted Velcro straps but I found these and they work great. She has an older fridge- the kid with a fridge door on the bottom and the freezer up top. We attached them to both door and the fit is adjustable and the function it great. Recommend!!

We have a mini freezer for quick grab breakfast stuffs ice cream etc. Thought it was closed all the way but the slight gap created the north pole inside.This device makes sure it's tightly closed and no more polar freezer. It was very easy to install and so far has stayed put. It's not very noticeable or industrial looking. It's simple to open and snap back again. Yes it's an extra step but I feel secure I won't have to defrost the north pole again or worry our food will spoil.

These did not hold at all. My fridge latch was broken, but the door could still begin to fall open even with this latch on - it just pulled off.
