Works well on soft items. But some large items that appear soft will cause damage. Easy to clean. Just put it in the dishwasher. It can slice saving a lot of prep time for cooking.

We love this tool for making Spam Musabi. As careful was we are, it IS plastic, so it breaks at the hinge. But for the price, it’s still worth it. Glad we have a two-pack as we are already on the second one.

One of the two arrived broken. The steel wire had snapped in half so I was not even able to fix it. At this cheap price it didn't seem worth processing a replacement. That leaves me with just one of the two pack ordered. As far as use, when I went to slice Spam, I was worried that the flimsy metal string would snap. It did not. It worked as described. I also used it to slice butter into butter pads and it worked for that as well. The bottom line is that this isn't an industrial slicer. It is a light duty slice your Spam at home six times a year kitchen gadget.
