I wanted to lock the pin on a turnbuckle, but maintain the ability to easily remove it (instead of having to screw/unscrew a threaded pin. This was the perfect part for me, available in stainless steel for outside use, that enables easy installing and removed.

This pins work well and are well made. They have enough spring to be able to get them open and stay closed. It is enough spring tension that I don't worry that they will open up, seems good.
