How many hours of direct sunlight does a Ring Solar Panel need for my device to stay charged?
For best performance, Ring recommends at least 2-3 hours of direct sunlight per day for Solar Panel. With the recommended amount of direct sunlight, the device will remain continuously charged under most conditions. Make sure there are no obstructions or objects that could cast a shadow on your solar panel, such as an extended roof, tree, or bush.
Will solar power keep my Ring device charged during cloudy or seasonal weather?
Ring solar products require direct sunlight to stay charged and provide power to the device. If the weather is cloudy or it rains/snows, this would limit the direct sunlight your device receives, which would lessen the charge. Colder temperatures may also cause excessive drain to your device’s lithium-ion battery. With prolonged cloudy or winter weather, you may need to manually recharge the battery more frequently. When sunny weather returns and the solar panel receives enough direct sunlight again, it will keep the device powered.
How can I install my solar panel to get the most sunlight and the maximum solar charge?
Seasonality and how far north or south you live affects the strength of the sun. If you live in the northern hemisphere, install your solar panel facing South. If you live in the southern hemisphere, install it facing North. Ring recommends to use the adjustable arm to angle the panel at about 45 degrees toward the sky to get the most sunlight possible.
Will a Ring solar panel keep my device fully charged at 100% battery level?
The battery level of the device will vary based on the amount of direct sunlight the solar panel receives. Even with exposure to maximum sunlight, the battery level will not exceed a threshold of around 80%—this is to extend the lifetime of the battery.

Got these for my girlfriend for her ring stick up cams 2nd generation and they work flawlessly. Minimal sunlight got these cameras fully charged to 100%. Easy installation and took less than 10mins each to setup. Highly recommend this product. I am buying some for my ring cameras as well.

Installed for a Ring Spotlight and Ring Stick Up cam and both were up to 100% battery in 24 hours and have stayed that way since. Installation was fairly easy.

Designed for sunny locations these solar panels keeps your firmly on the ground while your security camera are safe in high locations. No mare mattery changing in the middle of winter on a ladder onto of the icy conditions for me!

I’ve been using these to keep the batteries charged in my Ring Stick Up outdoor cameras. While I would prefer the cable to be detachable for the option of using custom-length cables, I’ve found that looping and securing the cable with Velcro to the mount works well.These are more affordable than the official Ring OEM options, and I plan to purchase more when I install additional cameras this spring or summer.After a few months of use, they’ve proven durable enough to withstand snow, rain, and 50mph wind gusts. Overall, I consider this a successful purchase.

I have 2 cameras with the original solar panel gen1 from ring, they are great and keep batteries in 100% - really push way more energy than camera can use.These ones that are rated higher Wattage are horrible… I have it in 2 other cameras and it’s not making any difference at all , just like not having them (or maybe worse). Very disappointed.This picture if from the camera installed with 1 battery fully loaded just 15 days ago.

Great value and keeps batteries full charged. I use this for 2 Ring cams that were difficult to pull out battery for charging and adding these solar chargers resolved the issue.

Very easy to install. Installed it over my camera so it’s doubling as a weather deflector. Definitely will make it so I don’t have to keep changing and charging the battery.
