Fan won't work at all in the shade, but when the sun is out it circulates the air pretty well.Don't expect enough air to keep you cool on a hot day. Think of it more like a desktop computer fan. It's enough to circulate the air, but that's about it.I mounted the solar panel on in top of my shed. The mounting bracket is functional but will likely bend during the next tornado warning storm. If the area you live in has mild weather it might hold up. Many similar fans don't include a mounting bracket, so it's hard to complain.It's nice to have a switch that allows you to turn it on and off, because you don't want it blowing in cold outside air during the winter.Don't expect much, it's more like a small attic fan, it's not going to move a ton of air. But it does work ok. I just wanted something for my shed that circulated the hot humid air during the summer. It's better than nothing.*EDIT* I've had this unit up and running for a few months in a very hot and humid shed and it seems to keep the shed a good dealer cooler than it was before having the fan. I leave it in the ON position all the time, so when the sun is out, it's blowing air inside the shed.

My Wife has a resin shed she starts seeds in and stores her gardening supplies in, it full sunlight the shed can reach 130 degrees or more. I bought this to take the edge off of the heat when she goes in there to work, and it works quite well, I pull cooler air from the dark woods on the back side of the shed. The internal temp is now much more manageable at around 80 degrees, and she is relieved to walk in there and not get hit with a blast of air much hotter than ambient. The panel works well, and doesn't require full sun to work, which was a relief.

They work well and have a nice long cable with a spare cable for charging USB stuff. I only gave 4 stars because of two problems:1. The configuration of the four fans means that there is no directed flow of air. The air is dispersed. That might work for some scenarios like extracting heat efficiently but not for the use cases mentioned like cooling chicken coops etc.2. The fan is really loud in full sun. While some animals seem to like the slightly cooler air, most are scared of the noise and try to avoid the area where the fan is.Overall, it is easy to setup and install and great in other scenarios.

Tested in full sunlight and it worked. So installed it and nothing. Still in full direct sunlight, nothing. Went up and turned the switch off and then back on, then it worked. Next day, no power again. Same thing where you have to turn it off and on for it to work. How are you going to ventilate a building if you have to go power cycle it every day and probably several times a day if it gets cloudy. Worthless.

The unit was easy to install and worked like a charm. As expected, the fans run high or lower speeds depending on the sunlight. I faced mine true south and gets operational sunlight most of the day. Works well even on over cast days. I put the unit in my small green house and would not expect this to be a person cooler. In the correct application this unit is perfect.

after just a few days of operation the cheap plastic fan blade broke off within the housing and flung around, fan is no longer functional and was properly installed. You need to send me a replacement fan ASAP, amazon will only allow me to return the item but you simply need to send a replacement part immediately, otherwise this review will stay up.
