I used these smoker boxes in our gas grill. I fill one with apple chips and one with hickory chips and placed them on the burner. We had the most delicious smoked turkey. Clean up was easy. The boxes are durable and well built.

Prior to finding this item, I used to wrap my wood chips in aluminum foil, no need to do that anymore. I fill them with soaked chips, lay them on the hot charcoal and I'm off to a great smoky barbecue. Next time I use the grill, I dump the charred wood in them onto the fresh charcoal and refill with soaked chips.

Not the most heavy duty boxes but they should last for years.

had to replace the large smoker box that came with my vertical smoker with something, and a two-fer of stainless boxes worked very well. Combined, these do not hold the wood chip capacity of my old, rusted box, but they did very well and even fit nicely on the wire rack for the smoke box. With the vent holes on the side, I couldn't soak all the wood chips completely in the box without loading them up and placing them in a pan or bucket, no I got it done. The stainless looks to be decent quality and the attached lid is nice. Overall, happy with the product.

The holes are too small to allow enough smoke to get out. I doubled their size and it works perfect. The hinge side should not have a downward return, the wood chips get stuck in the gap when the unit is open and you’re filling it. it is hard to get the chips out of that spot in order to close the top.
