They hang for drying rack purpose and if you press them together it force squeezes dirt, soap & water out of sponges or rags! Use them in every bucket! Don't fear a 2nd or even 3rd bucket. #1 purpose is so debris settle below the grate and minimize abrasives & residues. Use them in short buckets too.

I have a name brand version of this bucket insert and it is clearly made better but this one works fine. It has a few rough edges but it is just going to sit in the bottom of the bucket and create a dead space where heavier dirt and sand will settle out of your wash water. I don't see it breaking or failing in any way. You can use them in the two bucket system for washing your car but they are also useful in the same way hand washing sandy items or putting things to drain in the bucket. two for thirteen is a good deal.

The first time I saw one of these used my a professional auto detailer, I was like, why did I never think to use one!! helps to keep any sand or grit out of your sponge to cleaning cloths...Could be used for household window and floor cleaning too! Simple and effective 5 stars!
