I have had several different name brand sets over the years and they all seem to break down eventually. These, compared to my others, aren’t as thick or heavy as some but they do the job. Recently I had two other kinds of scissors break on me because they had a bolt in the middle that kept coming loose. These don’t seem to have that issue.I use them for cutting up everything from lettuce to chicken strips but nothing more heavy duty than that. I like that one is red (which I use for raw meat) and the other black (for cooked foods) so I can keep track of what I’m using them for when I’m cooking.I’ve washed them in the dishwasher several times without any issues.Love that they come with a cover, because we’ve also brought them with us while traveling when we rent places with kitchens.
