Has a soft but loud tone, not sharp like plastic heads or dampened like wool types. The weight makes it easy to handle and roll.. I just need practice!

These feel good overall, but are listed primarily as marimba mallets. I'm a school band director, and they are harder than any of my other marimba mallets. They're hard enough that I would allow students to use them only on the higher end of the marimba, but the sound there isn't all that pleasant--using them on the lower, thinner bars might break the bars. They worked reasonably well as "soft" xylophone mallets, and could be used--as we do at my middle school--when trying to get more of a marimba sound out of a xylophone.

We haven’t used them yet but purchased as replacement for our xylophone since the puppy chewed up our other sticks

The rubber used is pretty cheap and when hitting the high notes you hear more of the rubber hitting than the actual sound of the instrument. I suppose I couldn't expect a lot for the price but they are pretty pointless.

This is pretty much exactly what it says. The mallets have a nice wooden handle and nice firm but rubbery tips.
