These stainless hooks will be impervious to rusting so they are suitable for marine use or other outdoor applications. It's nice to get a matching pair, for a flag, or other paired application. They are very strong and heavy duty. While not rated for climbing so I would not use them for safety in scaling a cliff, I would be very comfortable that for rooftop work in a fall arrest system they would easily hold me from sliding off of a pitched roof, and with gear I weigh about 240 pounds.The black plating finish is susceptible to scratches which will remove it revealing the stainless metal.The ad mentions dog leash as a potential application. I say no way. They are too heavy for that. I would not put this heavy a piece of hardware on even a Great Dane. Maybe for a bear leash, if you dare to put a bear on a leash!

these are some hefty, stout hooks. i pulled and pried, twisted and yanked on them pretty hard and nothing happened. good as anything you'd normally get at the hardware store. not sure what i'm going to use them on, got them to review. they have as bit of weight to them, came sealed in a bag inside a clear plastic box, but i dropped it with the clips inside and broke it, but it would have made a nice craft storage container as a bonus to the clips. they're painted, not sure what the material is beyond having the weight of steel. spring retaining the clip is painted black also. only failure point i could see is the spring possibly rusting and breaking depending on use environment, letting the jaw flop back and forth, everything else seems solid. if the price is right and you need large [4x2x1/2" ish] black clips i wouldn't hesitate to get these.

These swiveling snaps hook are built tough, and are very strong and versatile with tons of possible uses, although I wouldn't use them to attach dog leashes as the literature suggests, unless you have a big dog. They are made of 304 stainless steel with black electroplating. The swiveling D ring can prevent attached chains or ropes from twisting into knots. All in all these are great snap hooks that I highly recommend.

These hooks look well made and are HEAVY. I'm really impressed by them. I don't know about the 220lb weight capacity, that might be a bit lofty so to speak. But for general use, I'd recommend these to anyone if the price was right, and at present the price is decent.
