This is great tray and makes cleaning the fireplace a breeze. I didn’t get one smudge of ash on me when I cleaned the fireplace after 3 fires in it. Also you can’t really see it from outside the fireplace. Highly recommend!

This is a sturdy set. I mainly purchased to get another year or so out of the cracked fireplace liner.First issue for me was the gas line jutting into the fire area. I've capped it off and use my fireplace for wood. But of course it's still there. The height of this tray is more than the height of the gas pipe off of the fireplace floor. So, I removed the 'easy grip handle' on that side, then bent what remained to give me enough clearance.Another problem is the angle of the back is a bit less than the angle of the fireplace. This results in an area where ash will collect but not easily be removed. I'll deal with that for a while.I'm not sure it helps with cleaning. This is a sturdy tray that has some weight to it. To 'transport' the ash for 'easy' cleanup means I have to take out the grate (also heavy) place somewhere, then lift out this tray (which isn't a perfect fit so I've got ash outside the tray as well). Then I can carefully bring it outside to a waiting can. I think I rather prefer the little shovel while still in the fireplace.

The product itself is fine. The quality is decent and it adjusts to fit as expected. That said, I didn’t consider my gas starter which negates the usefulness of this tray. While I was able to install it, I would basically be dumping the ash out each time I remove it to get it out from under my gas starter. I suppose I could adjust the pipe configuration to allow for the tray, or remove the starter all together, but it just seems more trouble than it is worth.

We needed an outdoor area to cook kebab food and this pan works well to contain the coals that we need to cook over. It works well to contain the fire, the coals, and keep the fire off of the wet ground.This this kit comes in 3 main metal pieces and easily screws together to to make the bottom pan rigid and ready for the firepit. The 3 pieces also makes it easy to expand the pan's size to fit different fire places.

It's adjustable and at its smallest it fit in my fireplace. I don't know how many people have bigger fireplaces than mine. It seems like it won't work for small fireplaces. The only thing I don't like is that it says it's 2" deep but within those 2 inches are a million holes all the way around so ash falls out. It needs to be wider and smaller, I think, to be useful to more people.
