This is way better than ropes. Stainless steel is not as vulnerable to UV light or the elements of weather.There would be a possibility to pinch yourself, but this has been averted by wrapping the sectionwhere you will put your hands, using it as a swing with an anti-skid, anti-static, and sweat-absorbing material.Because this material is vulnerable to UV light, I suggest adding something else.This would leave the original, close-fitted material intact and you only need to replace your add-on.The setup is very easy and easily adjusted to make it fit.For me, this is the ideal 'rope' used with a swing, hammock, or even punching bag.

These chains are sturdy and protected at one end with a rubber safety coating to protect whatever you’re attaching that side to. They are very well made, quality metal with a good weight! They work perfectly for hanging my hammock from a couple trees!

I can't use this for my hammock because the carabiner openings are too narrow to accommodate 1) the metal rings attached to the tree, 2) the rope I was formerly using to attach the hammock, and 3) the rings built into the ends of my hammock. It's a well-made, sturdy chain, and the carabiners have a locking mechanism for safety; but the carabiner opening is only about half an inch. That limits its use.

These stainless steel hammock chains are indeed heavy duty, and partly wrapped with tennis racket material to prevent hair getting snagged, etc.Very strong and easy to install.
