Melts ice well. Their is a current salt shortage so the price was higher and delivery took a little longer but I am grateful for the salt.

This item causes chemical burns on animals' Paws. It's also extremely toxic, to animals, including birds. This was not listed when purchasing this item. And now it's been shipped, and I'm not given an option to stop the shipment only to refuse the shipment which is not always possible Because they can't alwaysmake personal contact with you. When they bring the item. I will not be able to stop shipment on the item if I do not see the delivery When it arrives. At that point I will have to take it somewhere which I cannot, because I have a broken foot and an eye injury. We have no other options, and they will not give them to me until it is received as the shipping process has already begun. I would be very wary of purchasing this product if you love animals at all.

What do you expect? It is salt and melts ice. :-) It does a good job down to almost zero degrees Fahrenheit but starts to struggle by then. I have been able to keep my sidewalk clear for the Amazon delivery people, so my primary goal has been accomplished.

I purchased two bags of rock salt and was very pleased with the product it worked real good on my driveway in sidewalks and with purchasing again if I needed it
