Please replace your boat impellers every year. Failure of an impeller can cause catastrophic engine damage.This kit is great because it has literally every type of gasket for any of the impellers out there.This was the only kit I could find that had the gasket to fit my sea water pump.I replace every year.

This kit looks to be a near perfect copy of the last impeller kit that I bought from Volvo. The gaskets look to be perfect copies. The stiffness of the rubber seems to match my memory of the new ones that I've bought before. The only things that keeps me from giving this 5 stars are two details.1) There is a lot of mold flash on the ends of the impeller blades. Shouldn't be too hard to remove, but why are they there at all. The rest of the molding looks good, so maybe the mold is not precise enough or its worn out.2) At the ends of the impeller, there have always been a small channel cut between the center hub and the outer edge of the hub. This is more visible in the picture. Every other impeller has had this channel, but not this one. It is not clear what the function of this is, but I'm a bit concerned that it doesn't exist.On my boat changing the impeller can only really be done out of the water, as the sea water pump, while inboard, is below the waterline. So, I'm a bit cautious about putting something in that doesn't exactly match. But, the boat is due for a new impeller, so I'll use this, but keep the old one around, just in case.

This looks like a well-made rubber impeller replacement, complete with gaskets and O-rings, so no stars off for my mistake. I have a 1988 OMC Cobra sterndrive and this looks like the right item as I’ve replaced the impeller a few times. However, I didn’t match this to the engine makes and models listed on this product page, and that is my bad.Like I say, this is well made, but don’t just eyeball it: take the time to look up the right replacement for your boat.
