I love this ligature, I recommend it to all of my students. Some of the plating is very cheep with the new ones and causes the ligature to slip up as you play and pop off. If you just take some sand paper to the back and inside (same side and the screws but the part that goes up against the plastic of the mouthpiece) it will ruff up the slippery surface and stop the slippage.

I don't know this stuff, but the kid's band instructor made it a point to order one (and kid seems happy with it..)

My last ligature (identical model) snapped in half after a few years of use. Hopefully this one doesn't do the same!

I bought two old clarinets with missing ligatures. These ligatures fit just right and hold the reed very well. I only wish that the rest of the clarinet's metalwork were as bright and shiny as these ligatures are. Now I have some incentive to polish the rest of the metal.
