without a doubt it works and works well. at least for me. its necessary to upgrade the original cable (in an og xbox) because the one it shipped with was only a 40 pin, making it not compatible with sata drives. (its not compatible anyway, without getting an ide to sata adapter, but even if you have that, it wont work without the 80pin cable. this one works.

When modernizing an original Xbox, a normal 18" 80-conductor cable works. It's tight and oftentimes not pretty, but it works. The additional length of this cable makes all the difference. I was able to make it look nice while achieving dead reliable UDMA6/ATA-133 speeds which is the fastest communication protocol the system supports.I'll spend the extra money without question for this outcome from here on out.

I needed a high quality 80 pin ATA cable for my original xbox so I could run an SSD. Amazingly this cable supports the max data rate that a parallel cable can offer, 133 mb/s. Almost no load times whatsoever on any of my xbox games. Super pleased!

This is the IDE cable length you need if you are upgrading the HDD to a SATA and need an 80 Wire ATA133 IDE ribbon cable.

If you want to swap your og xbox hdd with a larger sata you need this, and a sata to ide adapter. Its actually 2 inches longer than the regular xbox cable (24†vs 22â€), the other cheap brands are 18†and not very good. Get ‘em while you can, these aren’t manufactured anymore and getting rare, I ordered a spare for the future, you should too if you mod systems!

Works as intended. Expensive but not many options for this lengthI got this to install a 2TB SATA HDD into my original Xbox console. Works perfectly with this and a Startech SATA to IDE adapter.
