I got tired of my rope fraying using only a carabiner for a hammock chair. I ordered 1/2 " climbing rope and 1/2 " steel thimbles to use along with the carabiner instead. I did a triple noose slide knot around the thimble and will do another one at the other end. This will secure the hammock chair that has a Mahogany wood balancer better than ever.

These galvanized steel wire rope thimbles are excellent in protecting your rope. I use these when creating boat and dock ropes. They are very strong and are protected by a galvanized coating. These should last a long time.
