The fan motor in my stand up freezer went out. I had no desire to spend 1200$ to purchase a new one so a little research and the help of Amazon I purchased this motor. The installation was simple I plugged it in and screwed it back in place. the whole process took less then 30 minutes. I did need to use a bolt and washer because the motor is not threaded for screws. This is universal and it fit perfectly. In less than an hour the whole freezer was working perfectly and cold enough to make ice. Itรขโฌโขs been 11 months and the unit is still working great. 30$ is much better then 1200$ THANK YOU!

This was nearly a 100% drop in replacement for my evaporator motor for my Frigidaire freezer. Easy to install and it works perfect. The holes to mount the bracket were larger than the original and not threaded. It was an easy fix. I just used self tapping screws.

Update:***This is an update to the original review. Today is 1/31/24 and I go to my fridge and I hear this crackling hissing noise, and of course I know that sound. Its the evaporator motor starting to malfunction. I purchased this on 12/11/23 took a couple days and installed this one 14th or 15th December. Itรขโฌโขs only been 1-1/2 months and it is going dead. Iรขโฌโขll try again because it may have been a lemon, but to pay 19$ every 2ish mths is gonna rack up. So I will update, the next one arrive tmrw and see how that goes***I have a Frigidaire the ones that can convert to fridge or freezer. I have 2 one for each. The picture above is how it looked. Anyhow this problem happened about 2 1/2 yr ago and the warranty covered it . I saw exactly what the tech did, so when I heard that grating noise I knew the evaporator was heading out the door. But I waited to late and then the top of my fridge started getting warm but the bottom drawer was freezing everything within reach. I looked online and the genuine part 297309000 was over 100. So I found this part and I read one review and I purchased. This part has been an absolute blessing. The price was right and I also got a fan, that broke. Overall I am extremely pleased. Installation was a wiz, motor started as soon as the fridge was plugged in. Quiet and it is colding as I write. May buy an additional one as backup. 2-2.5yrs is the average life for this part. Highly recommend.

Don't waste your money, this is the second one I purchased thinking the first one was just one of those things. I did not request a refund I just purchased a second one, it ran good for a couple weeks then like the first got louder and louder then quit...

I guess I assumed the mounting holes would be tapped but they weren't. Luckily I had some 10/32s and a tap laying around. รฐลธโขโ

Apparently, ALL of these come from the same factory for multiple vendors and uses. That said, if it is a replacement unit for something you want to get functioning again, your old fastening screws probably aren't going to work. Mine were #8 machine screws and the mounting hole in the new fan was a fraction to large for the original screws to get a firm grip. They stripped. Thinking it was a defective unit (now returned) the replacement had the same issue.Seeing the pattern and needing my freezer to work, I very carefully drilled out the mounting holes on the new replacement fan to 9/64" and use two #10x1/2" machine screws as a tap in lieu of an actual tap, one for each side. You will need to run them in and out a few times, emptying the hole of debris and going progressively deeper each time until they are almost completely seated. Each will be mostly ruined so you DO NEED TWO, one for each side and toss them when you are done. Then fasten the motor with #10x3/8" machine screws and they will seat firmly. Can you still strip them out? Probably, but only if you are doing your best gorilla impersonation. Do not try to quicken this process with sheet metal screws, it will not work. No, I did not "run that lab" as it was not necessary. I write all of this as had I known this up front, my freezer would have been fixed a week ago. I hope it helps other purchasers.

This was a perfect replacement for my noisy evaporator fan motor, EXCEPT that the two bolts that are used to mount the motor have no threads to bite in the new unit. The original bolts just slide in without friction. Not different size threads, but NO threads in the new motor. To make use of the bargain unit I put a bunch of Teflon tape on the bolts (for some friction) and turned them in to position the motor properly and prevent up down movement, then I applied two tie wraps, one to each side of the motor to lock it in place. It seems very secure and is running quiet.The replacement is so similar to the original, it appears that it may be possible to move the motor part from the old motor to the new one that has the proper threads, but I didn't want to risk damaging the new unit by modifying it.
