RadiantGUARD Garage Door Insulation Kit

Heavy-Duty for a Clean Appearance

Unconditioned-uninsulated garages can easily reach 100° F - at least 20 to 30 degrees hotter than the outdoor temp.

Say goodbye to extreme garage temperatures and hello to comfort with our easy-to-install DIY garage door insulation kit that blocks 95% of the heat that penetrates your garage door.

Our heavy-duty reflective insulation is rigid and prevents sagging creating a beautiful garage door appearance as opposed to competitors.

Designed to fit one (1) double car garage door (up to 8-feet by 20-feet) or two single car garage doors (up to 8-feet by 10-feet), this HEAVY-DUTY reflective insulation kit will lower the overall temperature of your garage space, protecting the contents of your garage and ensuring comfort year-round. Can be installed on all types of garage doors including metal, wood and roll-up doors.

Easily fits standard garage door sizes:

--one (1) 16ft (up to 20ft) X 8ft 2-car garage door

--two (2) 8ft X 8ft 1-car garage doors

Included Accessories

  • one (1) heavy-duty easy-to-cut reflective bubble insulation roll 2-ft by 80-ft for a total of 160-sf
  • one hundred (100) 1-in by 2-in double-sided tape pieces, and
  • one (1) roll of 2-in by 30-ft duct tape

How to Install

  1. Count and measure all the door panels and cut the reflective insulation roll to fit each of your panels.
  2. Clean the indoor surfaces of the garage door panels with water and/or alcohol to remove any grease or grim to ensure the panels stick well once installed. NOTE: If you use any other cleaner, make sure to go back over it with water and/or alcohol to remove residue that some cleaners tend to leave on surfaces.
  3. Peel off the backing of an included 1-inch by 2-inch double sided foam piece and adhere one to each corner of each door panel surface and apply pressure for at least 1 minute. NOTE: This is the main method for securing the material to the door.
  4. Peel off the remaining backings to expose the sticky surface and position each reflective insulation door panel piece into place and press firmly against the adhesive pieces.
  5. If necessary, cut 2-inch pieces of the included reflective tape to secure the insulation pieces further.

We ordered a couple rolls to cover a two car and single car garage. Found it easy to roll out and cut to exact sizing needed. Easy to slip in our garage door. Really excited at how warm our garage is staying during our cold winter. Hoping it will in turn stay cooler in the hot summer. Highly recommend this product.

It’s easy to cut and install , we have a 16ft door , it was more than enough. We cut a piece for our car to reflect heat and put a piece in the top of our freezer , incredible for those , would be good for any freezer or cooler

I would have returned item, but I had to cut product down from 24-inches to 16-inches to fit my garage door sections. The product comes with small tabs of 3m tape; approximately 1-inch x 2-inch... I had 18 taps per section of garage door. The tape securely attached to my garage doors, but would not secure the product from falling off. Finally giving up, I removed the tabs from garage door, and it took off the coating and now have to repair. I actually ordered some rolls of commercial tape, but realized the issue is the adhering to the product, peals right off....

The adhesive patches help hold the insulation in place while it is taped. Not sure how well this product will insulate my garage door, which already has insulation inside the panels. But it should help. Not enough tape is supplied, so you'll need at least another roll of tape (cost around $13 for a roll). I hope I'm not wasting my money or time.

Let’s start off by saying I’m very happy with my results. The foil insulation seems high quality and I’m hopeful it will make a difference this winter! I appreciated the little double sided tape pieces, they helped hold the insulation on the door while I taped. Speaking of tape…. If you look at the imagines in the product description compared to mine you will notice that I have an old wooden garage door and the pictures show a modern metal one with horizontal bars at every section. It appears the product is just sitting in the slots of that door where as I had to cut and fully tape each and every panel on mine. I needed an additional roll of foil tape which set me back $15 for a 50 meter roll of quality foil tape (the stuff they give you is meh but works). I have plenty of foil material left over so I may do some more insulating in my garage such as the window and man door but for right now I’m just happy the garage door is done. The whole project took me about 4 and a half hours to complete. I recommend cutting a panel of insulation for a single square then using that as a template to cut the rest. Make sure your door is the same size rectangles and cut accordingly. Same for tape, I needed 32 vertical pieces and 32 horizontal pieces to fully tape up my 16 panels. I’m happy with the results and would buy this kit again if the need arose

We’ll see how it goes in the dog days of summer, but so far, with the sun shining on the aluminum garage door, I’m getting a 20 degree drop in temperature on the door, with the insulation installed.
