They work well for my use. I wouldn't use them on a vehicle because the magnet isn't very strong. I put them on the top of the refrigerators for better indoor reception with my handhelds.

The first thing I did was hook it up to an antenna analyzer. I was pleasantly surprised at the bandwidth and SWR. Well within specs. This is NOT designed for permanent use and the mag mount won't hold up beyond 65 mph. I learned that the hard way ha ha. I did not test for power loss as it uses RG174 and power loss is to be expected. Works fine for me with a cheap HT, but will likely not hold up to much abuse. Take care of it and it will take care of you. Bonus, you get two of them for the price. Good value.

Kinda trash ngl. Ok for a cheap ht i guess. The magnet is weak as azz

As other reviews have pointed out, the magnet is very weak. It will not last long on the roof of your car. I was able to get up to about 70mph before I heard a clunk and it started rattling around. I was doing a test, so I was prepared to pull over and take it off, but I would not count on it for any sort of mobile unit. That said, from an RF perspective, it's not bad. I was able to get 1:1.5 VSWR or lower on the ham bands through GMRS (about 440 to 470MHz). It even has a notch around the 2 meter band, maybe 1:1.7 or .8, but still usable. It really depends on the ground plane. Go to the dollar store and buy yourself a couple of baking sheets or pie tins, stick this on there, and put it on the top shelf of your closet or somewhere high up. You'd have a perfectly serviceable antenna if you live in an apartment or something.Look, you're not going to talk to the moon with this antenna, and you don't want it on your car, but if you're looking for a cheap antenna to play with at home, maybe you're just starting out with radios, there's nothing wrong with trying this one out for the price point. Get a better antenna later on, but if you're expectations are right, it's really not that bad.But seriously, go to Dollar Tree and buy a pie tin. That's all you need to make this work.

Surprisingly great antennas for the price.

As previously stated by others, the magnet strength is poor. When mounted on a car roof (Toyota Corolla), at 50 MPH it starts slipping and at 52 MPH it disconnects. Additionally, I didn’t get any increased range when attaching this antenna to a metal roof 8 feet above the ground. I noticed a decrease in range. I can monitor, not transmit, a simplex broadcast 3 miles away, with my stock whip antenna that came with my handheld while inside. With this antenna, I can’t hear the broadcast at all while outside I will probably end up building something. This will be returned.I found this Nagoya antenna (links below). The magnet is strong and holds at 60 MPH (I haven't tested beyond that yet). The connection helps with stress on the connection to the radio. With the antenna, I can transmit and receive on the simplex channel I mentioned before (mounted horizontally on a metal window frame INSIDE the house). Is the new setup perfect? No. Does it meet my needs? Yeshttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B09TPZ221K?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailshttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BNK8M9SZ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

Both antennas worked fine on VHF and UHF, but after a few months they started falling off the roof. They made very cheap.
