Absolutely buy the 60 cm fical distance version. I used with Imalent MS18.The 12 cm version has a focal distance so close that I was barely able to burn things using sunlight!in general the quality is really good, I'm using the 12 CM lens I was able to focus my smartphone's flashlight into a tiny point in the distance almost like a laser.

Why are pieces of plastic this pricey? These should be sold for less money I think.

So I gave 3 stars because the lesnes are pristine and I'm sure they are extremely well made, BUT the product description is not all that accurate.I bought this for a sculpture project, to magnify a painting. I thought it would magnify the whole thing, but when I got the lenses, the only part that had a clear image was the very center. The other 9 or so inches out from the center was a total mess of bent light and distortion. This lens is for focusing light into a point. It is not for magnification.

Simple, lightweight and flexible. When focused on a piece of milled pine I was able to produce flame in a matter of seconds even in mid march when the sun wasn't even at its highest for the day. Potentially very useful in an emergency situation. Of course it magnifies quote well too!

Works as advertised, lights paper and other tinder on fire almost immediately on a sunny summer day

Focal point is not as described, both lenses sent to me were very scratched.,
