I picked this 2-pack of drain-strainers up for our kitchen sink. Now that we have these, I wish I'd gotten sone 20 years ago! Theyre essential for catching all the ick from dishes and saving your drain. We another type of drain plug when filling the sink with water. The included drain plug handle is higher than the bottom of the sink and I found that annoying when trying to wash plates and pans. However, I didn't deduct any stars as thats merely my personal preference. We do not have a disposal or dishwasher so clean up in the sink is now easy and ensuing the safety of our septic is better managed

It works well once you figure out they are NOT designed to work together. Its either one or the other at a time. (Laughing at myself).

This is a 2 piece set, a strainer and a stopper. The strainer fits and works well. The stopper doesn't fit as well and the seal is not tight which allows water to drain out easily when I am trying to fill the basin. I have switched to a cheap flat silicone drain stopper that lays over the strainer and does a 90% good job of keeping the water in the basin. The included stopper fails 100% of the time.

I was replacing a sink plug that easily got pushed out of position. I never knew if I was going to have an empty or full sink when I came back to wash dishes after a soak. I saw some of the negative reviews on this one, but I read one that said to push one side in first and then push down the other side, so I've done that from day one. Absolutely. No. Leaks! I use the plug separately from the strainer. Just unplug and put the strainer in before the water starts to drain....works great! My mother (who lives with us) has trouble getting the stopper out of the sink, but I'm not sure why. I have a thumb injury and can still get it out with that hand, no issues. I do the same as when I put it in....pull up on one side at an angle and remove. The strainer is very solid and easy to clean. I've had the mesh metal strainers in the past and stuff gets all stuck up in it. This one is easy peasy. Take it out, dump, rinse. I don't have to spray it or scrub it. I'm very, very happy with this. It is a sturdy metal, so it feels like it will last a long time. The only thing that may wear out is the gasket around the stopper, but I doubt that will be an issue for quite a while. Oh! Almost forgot. The strainer fits very well in my drain. It's flush so that little bits don't get caught up in between the edge of the strainer and the sink drain.

We swapped out usual kitchen drains with the center pin that needs to be lined up with a hole in the drain for these. They're easier to use, they hold water every time, are easier to pull up, and look great!

The strainer is great, a loose fit but does the job. When I bought this, I thought the plug sat on the strainer but it doesn't seal at all. I need to remove the strainer to use the plug. You need to fiddle a bit to get the plug to sit properly so it works but when placed properly it works really well. Don't push it too much into the drain or you'll struggle to get it out. Good quality.
