I actually purchased these to make a couple of noise makers to try to keep a bully mockingbird away from the feeders. Combined with some remote control switches they worked well for the project. The mockingbird was not as impressed with them. After a few uses he figured out they weren't a threat and went right back to bullying.

Some older vehicles do not have power locks or they might have door locks that are operated by air or just faulty original electric door locks. This kit will turn doors into fast locking, or unlocking doors.You get two solenoids that will electrically lock or unlock a door, two brackets, two rods but only one attaching clamp kit.You will have to purchase & install wiring if your vehicle has no existing wires and you will have to purchase a remote kit or install hidden switches somewhere to operate these solenoids.Tested them both with just a 9 volt battery:I supplied power & ground leads to each one solenoid and they work like they should, switching the leads will cause the solenoid to operate in the opposite direction.The rod has about a 9/16" throw.The solenoid is about 6-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 1-1/4" with the rod fully extended.I am using these solenoids to modify a generator so I can start/stop it remotely. One solenoid for the choke and maybe the other solenoid to possibly turn a fuel valve off and on. My design has not been finalized yet.Nice item but it was missing one attaching clamp kit.FOUR STARS

This was actually rated for my car, and it works perfectly. My friend who installed it said there were no issues. I'm very happy because my doors kept locking themselves and I had no key to get in the car, only the ignition key. 10 stars!

I’ve installed a few of these over the years, from complete power door lock conversions kits to modified individual units for repairs. I like to keep them on hand since I have several older vehicles they will work in. They are easily modified to work in any classic GM and many other makes as well.I grabbed this kit since the price was fantastic and they included the rods and couplers. I didn’t realize I still had a few mismatched units in the parts bin. The new ones seem a little lighter weight than a couple of the older ones but the materials look nearly identical. I tested both in both polarities and they function fine. I won’t likely get around to installing them anytime soon but If I find a defect in them I’ll update the review.5 stars for competitive pricing.

So I hooked these up to a 12v battery and they operated without any issues. They are a little on the large size. The actuator moves smoothly though and it is fairly quiet. They don't move very far, but for most door locks you don't need them to move very far. The hardware that comes with them isn't bad. The actuators also move pretty easily without power applied to them. They were easy to push and pull. Overally I'd recommend them.

After reading another review for these actuators, i realized i wasn’t the only one making a Pinewood Derby starting gate with these!They work great for my purpose and I’m sure would work great in your car too! Excellent value, easy to wire and so far so good!
