These onion cutter holds the onion in place for safely cutting the onion without cutting your fingers. The handle keeps your fingers out of the way of the knife. The teeth guides the knife so you can cut the onion in evenly space straight sections. It works well and is easy to use.

The quality and functionality of these slicer are good, just as described and expected. It allows for even slices and can be bigger or smaller based on where you choose to cut. It definitely makes it much safer and easier to slice without fear of cutting yourself. Not to say you can't, you still need to exercise a little caution. I was a little disappointed I couldn't use it to dice vegetables, because once cut they are a little slippery and this product is not designed for this. I evaluated it based on what it is advertised to do which is a slicer.
