Unlike a Kensington laptop lock, this vendor's lock and cable are substantially thinner and cheaper in terms of construction. For casual security use only. Worst of all the lock itself really doesn't fit in the laptop slot but rather wiggles around very loosely in the slot. It may not come out of the slot but still, I have zero confidence in it preventing theft.I thought the potential use in the three types of laptop lock slots would make this cable top more useful but it is not due to cheap construction and bad fit.

I've used a lot of laptops for work over the years, but never actually had a lock. It only took me a minute to work out the mechanism. It can be a little difficult pressing the engagement button hard enough fully engage the latches, but once you know what you're trying to do it gets a lot simpler. The cable itself lightweight enough to keep in my laptop bag as a regular item. You get 2 keys. I'll keep one easily accessible in my laptop bag with the "chain", and the second on my accessory keyring as a backup. I like how the lock-end rotates freely so you don't end up twisting the cable.

This is a cheap lock as indicated by the price and the manufacture. That doesn't mean it isn't useful but it does mean you should perhaps have the proper expectations.What's good about it is that it works with a wide variety of laptop devices. This flexibility is the main benefit. The cable itself is strong but relatively lightweight and you'd need a decent cutter to break it.The keying mechanism is the weak point. It uses a simple rounded key which can be defeated without a lot of trouble by a knowledgeable thief, who either has one of these very common keys, or knows the tricks with rolled up paper, etc.Of course no lock will stop a determined and skilled thief. So this lock is good to prevent "drive by" theft by a casual opportunist. For instance, you want to run to the restroom at the library or coffee shop; an unlocked laptop can be scooped up in seconds by a passer-by. A locked laptop, even with a cheap easily defeated lock, is a much less attractive target.I will rate this four stars. I do plan on using it in situations such as I've described. However it wouldn't be what I would use for securing the laptop overnight somewhere. You'd need a better solution --- or just take the laptop with you.

Absolutely top-notch device lock. I have used several and this Sendt device cable lock really gets the job done. The cable is thicker than most, plastic coated so it doesn't snag. It effectively fit 2 different laptops, a Chromebook and a monitor.If you need to tie down a piece of gear that has the attachment port, this is just the thing you need.

I was able to secure a monitor & a VESA mounted mini PC to a desk without issue. Fits 3 different types of locks. Well made and not easy to cut without the proper tools.

BOTTOM LINE:1. I recommend this product.2. The current price of ~$ is reasonable.LIKES:- It secures my electronics, such as my laptop or external hard drives.- It fits 3 types of locks. Currently, my devices have Kensington locks.- The cable and lock are surprisingly strong.- 6-foot cable has allowed me to wrap it not only around a desk leg, but another stand as well, thus adding to the deterrent effect.DISLIKES:- My keys can be misplaced.THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:This unit has only so much it can do to protect your devices. It's a great deterrent. It will make it more difficult for someone to walk off with my electronics.UPDATES:None at this time. I will update this review with any changes or important additions should any arise.
