I ordered this for an upcoming trip I have to Europe early next year that I have to bring my laptop. I'll be staying in mostly vacation rentals, so I figured that most will not have safes to lock up my valuables. This cable look is of good quality and looks identical to the brandname competitor for much less price. The only issue I had was seeing the numbers. I put on glasses and made my office really bright, and then I could see the numbers, but otherwise not so much. My photo with the numbers is really close up and with a camera that probably auto-corrected the image. It's really tough to see the numbers from a normal distance, and probably more so in low-light conditions. Otherwise, I think it's a really good quality cable lock for a laptop or any other device that has the locking mechanism. I'm not really sure about the included adapter as I didn't use that. Overall, I recommend the product.

I got this to use with my ThinkPad laptop. it fit it well and was easy to set and install. The lock itself feels loss on my laptop, however I think that this is a design feature to prevent the lock from interfering with the laptop lid. The lock feels a little bit on the cheaper side, however I believe that it would prevent my laptop from being stolen. If you had a threat actor with enough will persistence, I am certain that this lock could be subjugated, but the same could be said about every lock. I like the fact that this lock uses a combination instead of a key. It makes it much easier to remove the lock for transportation. Overall, a good quality lock.

Nice long lock to protect your expensive equipment. I have used this for my laptop that I attach to and usually attach to a table and it makes me feel secure if I decide to leave it in a room overnight. Comes with a default password but is very easy to change the password to whatever you choose. Cant really speak about the extra adhesive since all my devices have a built in lock slot but I would assume it is good enough to spook thieves away. Cable it self is pretty average thickness and is silver, so while being secure enough also doesn't really pop out just in case you are trying to have a sleek look. Overall, highly recommend if you are looking for a long, secure, sleek looking lock to protect your expensive equipment from theft.

This cable lock is exactly what I was looking for to deter someone from grabbing the laptop in a public place. The cable is long enough to allow me to love the laptop around and plug in accessories, and it’s plastic coated so it won’t scratch the desk.The code was easy to set by following the instructions and the dials turn easily and smoothly.I wasn’t able to make this lock, or another brand that I purchased, fit in the security hole in a Thinkpad 14S. The hole in the laptop is a little bit too small. Luckily this lock came with a separate anchor plate that you can attach to the back of the laptop. The anchor plate sticker is very sticky and will not be able to be removed by a would-be thief.This cable lock will definitely do the job it was intended to do.

purchased this to use with a family laptop that tends to "disappear" from its shared location at night. It works well, keeping the device where it should be. I don't know that I trust this in a public situation with high-end device, but it's solid

I travel a lot with my Macbook and any time I use it in a public place I lock it to a table leg so someone can't just grab it and run while I'm using it. It doesn't need to be as thick as a bicycle cable lock because my laptop is never out of my sight. It just needs to be a deterrent and this cable works perfectly as that.

This is great for what it is — a deterrent against snatch-and-grab theft. The numbers can be difficult to read, but most combination locks have that issue. Setting a new combination was easier than it usually is. It comes with a metal connector plate for devices that don’t have lock slots (or, like my laptop, have a different size), which is very helpful.
