I've got a few different cats and a large dog that all shed pretty badly. One of the cats is a Maine Coon breed and his fur gets extremely matted and tangled up into thick knots of fur.I had gone to Walmart and spent nearly $40 on an electric shaver for pets. To use it, I pretty much had to shave the cat almost entirely bald. This wasn't easy, and he definitely didn't like it, because I had to hold the cat down and keep him from squirming around while shaving him at the same time.This year, his coat has grown back and is pretty knotted up again. After seeing a friend post a video of a similar brush and seeing how effective and effortless it seemed, I had to try one of these brushes out. I can promise you that your money is far better spent on this brush than it ever will be purchasing an electric shaver for grooming your animals.To elaborate a little more about the cat and after it was brushed; he had gone from having large areas of knotted or matted down fur, to having a relatively clean feeling and knot-free coat. Before, when you would pet him, you would clearly be able to feel the knotted up clumps of his undercoat knotted up in his fur. While brushing him, it was an almost effortless process and the cat really loved it.Actually, he couldn't get enough and wanted me to keep going even after I had rid his coat of all matted and knotted areas. He was left feeling like a freshly groomed cat. While I've only talked about the one cat, he was merely the worst case in the group. I have a large Golden Retriever and she absolutely loves getting brushed by it as well. It also works equally as well for her.The only thing I would point out is that the teeth on this brush are fairly sharp on the inner curve. The tips are blunted and it does not harm the animal at all, but if you somehow catch a piece of skin or nipple in the sharp area of the brush, you could cut them. So, it's best to be mindful of that.

I always knew my pets had an undercoat but I just assumed it fell off I didn't realize and I feel embarrassed now that even though I brush them that sometimes these things have to be cut and as pets get older they have difficulty grooming themselves I've noticed.I got this for my cats and because they're all long haired & pedigree & mixed pedigree.You're never too old to learn something and what I learned was even though I was brushing them sometimes they need a little extra help and sometimes you have to help them remove the undercoat because when they're indoor cats that undercoat doesn't shed off regularly as if they're living outdoors when cats live outdoors the undercoat shed seasonally.When your pets are indoors or else they're domesticated being taken care of it doesn't shed that easily it sheds but it needs help my cats are so much shinier their coach is smoother I've gotten little tiny footballs that I wasn't aware of that I thought I was brushing out and I'm doing this more regularly now and my cat's actually love this now you have to be a little bit careful because on the end of each of the end of the rake its a razor - but it's taking off the dead for or else cutting the fur that's too much so it's making it It's helping the growth one of my cat's Is a rescue and when I got my tortoise shell mouse that's her name she had a ring around her neck her last human was well we don't need to go into pet abuse but basically well she was missing fur for the longest time after using this a For quite a few days that Fur has now grown back I don't know I think it has helped the distribution of everything is stimulating growth but regardless I'm just happy it's helping my pets and I intend to buy a couple more 1 as a spare and 1 to give to my daughter for her cats. â¤ï¸The prosIts well madeLove the purple color i.bought the 3 in oneIts heavy weight excellent feel in the handGets the smallest furballs & tangle remove.Pets health quality improve.Easy to use works in a few days to rejuvenate coat.The consNone

This item worked amazing it did amazing for both my Himalayan kitty with getting hers mattes out I was ready to shave her and took off a lot of fur from my American eskimo. Only gave this a 4 though because it was were you can flip a piece to use the small tooth comb it doesn't stay in very well and if you use it it flips open and close was to easy. Wish it had a way to lock that piece in to place.

My cat does not like to be touched because her matted fur actually hurts. After buying this tool and finally being able to hold her still 3 or 4 times to use this de-matting comb on her for just a few careful rakes each time, she realized I was helping her and she cautiously comes around for me to use it on her. Even though she'll only allow a minute or two at a time, we're eventually getting the stubborn matts out. Some of the matts are too big and thick to get in one try, but over time and gently raking, the job is getting done. I could NOT have been able to do it without this wonderful de-matting tool! And it's not some flimsy cheap device, either. It's solid and durable, hefty yet easy and comfortable in my hand. I highly recommend it!

purchased this for a thick coated Romanian Rescue dog we have, and it works great - using the rake sides first, then the fine toothed comb, removed good depth of hair, and all good
