Our house is newly built and there were lots of displaced pigeons (at least 5-10) that made a home on our front ledge (seen in the picture) and on other parts of the roof. There was pigeon poop all over the driveway and roof, and even fallen eggs. We put 2 of these up and it's been 2 weeks, no pigeons in sight! We saw some fly close but quickly flew away (presumably because they noticed the owls). We were 50/50 on whether it'll work due to the mixed reviews, but so far it's worked for us so I wanted to give this a higher rating to offset the negative reviews (which some are irrelevant and unfair, as described below).Regarding head rotation: Yes it's not perfect or consistent (one owl is very sensitive and rotates with me just blowing on it, the other 2 takes more wind force to move; however, pigeons don't seem to care if the head rotates a lot or a little because I guess in nature, predatory birds stay pretty still, so maybe pigeons are programmed to recognize other characters like outline, instead of movement. It's unfair to give less stars because the head doesn't rotate perfectly. The purpose of the owls is to deter pigeons, and for us they're doing their job well!I think what I'm trying to say is, don't let the focus be on the head rotating easily or not (because based on my experience, the ease of rotation isn't indicative of effectiveness). What matters is whether it works or not, and in my case, the answer is yes! So if you have a pigeon problem, give these a try!BTW, for the humans out there: the owls are detailed, a good life-like size, and look realistic from afar. There's a plug at the bottom to fill sand or rocks in if you want to weigh the owls down. We drilled 2 holes at the bottom and used zip ties since it's windy in our area. And we love the big yellow reflective eyes. Good luck!

Good product. Head swivels easily with wind. For the price and getting 3 it’s a deal but they are small so you will need to put them up high enough to actually be seen. Good quality product. Shipped and packaged well.

I’ll give it five stars for my neighbor. I gave her one of the three. The ducks don’t go up near her front door anymore. I put two by my back gate, and I walked right past it. I think one of the ducks gave it owl The finger

I've had these set up in the backyard for a week now, and they seem to be moderately effective at keeping the squirrels away. I did see 2 squirrels still running down the trees the first couple of days, but after repositioning the owls, I've only spotted one over the last 5 days (and none were recorded on surveillance). Prior to getting the owls, the squirrels were constantly running up and down and back and forth from the neighbors yard, who leaves corn cobs out for the them. They would then bring the corn into our yard and bury the kernels. These owls seem to have helped reduce that activity. They don't get 5 stars though, as one head doesn't want to spin at all.

First off, they do look good, but small, under 1 ft. We needed something to keep the birds off our front porch but the 2nd day, the birds payed no attention. We have a Mockingbird that visits both several times a day. I am thinking these small owls attract birds. Look at other options and pass on these.

Cheap. One fell and the head broke off. Too much wind is needed to turn the head. After a bit and even with frequent movement, the squirrels were no longer impressed.

I have had the worst time with the squirrels digging up my seeds and garden beds this year. Squirrel Stopper spray, Repell All animal repelent, and good old Cayenne Pepper was no longer working. Every time I walked by my back door and looked out (maybe every hour) the squirrels were back. It could easily be 10-15 times per day...many of them! My dog chasing them off didn't even deter them from coming back. Maybe it's too soon to count this as a win, but the past 4 days of having the owls out I have not seen 1 squirrel...ever!!Some may be buying this to scare off birds or hesitant to use them because they like visiting birds. I'll say the birds are still visiting my apple tree so they don't seem impressed. I will also mention the owl head don't swivel as much as I thought they would, but so far good enough for my purpose. Now, I just need to add sand to weight them down. Though, we've had a couple of rains with winds and without sand they've still kept their perch.

Poor woodpecker almost did himself in fighting his reflection in our reflective glass window and made a nap impossible. The addition of the owls worked perfectly and we’re all much happier. Especially the birds!
